Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks

Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program (WHIP)

Application Period Now Open for the 2025 Funding Cycle

To qualify for funding, projects must:

1. Enhance ecolologically important wildlife habitat through control or management of noxious weeds;
2. Use a landscape scale approach;
3. Include areas with public hunting access; and,
4. Include a minimum 25 percent non-federal cash match

The deadline to submit an application is November 27th, 2024.

Applications must be submitted online through WebGrants (funding.mt.gov).

Montana Noxious Weed Trust Fund Grant Program is now accepting applications for the 2025 cycle for the following opportunities:

2025 Emergency Noxious Weed Grant Applications Submission deadline: November 1, 2024, 11:59 PM
County Weed Districts and Reservations are eligible to apply for the $7,500 Noxious Weed Program Grants. Submission deadline: January 6, 2025, 11:59 PM*

All other opportunities to be posted in September 2024.
