RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM
Applications due January 31st, 5:00 PM MDT
The 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) reauthorized the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) as a set-aside of funds from the Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program.
The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) administers the Recreational Trails Program. Montana's RTP grant applicants (subrecipients) can include federal, state, county or municipal agencies, private associations, and clubs. RTP grants to subrecipients may not exceed 80% of the total of an individual project. After approval of all required documentation, FWP will reimburse the subrecipient for 80% of the actual documented costs incurred. Reimbursement of RTP funds will only be approved for project expenditures incurred after the date of the signed project agreement between the project subrecipient and FWP.
