Overview

The Montana Biz Builder program provides entities (businesses, nonprofits, etc.) in the food and agriculture space with the opportunity to engage in education and technical assistance (TA) to implement projects that enhance the middle of the Montana food supply chain. Entities entering and actively participating in the program will be eligible to apply for grant funds.

Application to this program must come through one of Montana’s Food and Agriculture Development Centers (FADC) and participating entities must commit to completing a self-designed training and technical assistance program.  

Once entered into the program entities will be connected to training and technical assistance through the FADC as identified in their workplan. Participants will be connected to support systems and engage in peer support with other program participants. The goal of the program is to create more educated, better-connected organizations in the middle of the food supply chain that are more likely to make sustainable contributions to providing local food to Montana supply chains.

Purpose

• Accelerate businesses in the middle of the food supply chain to commercial success.
• Provide for business development through education, technical assistance, mentoring, peer support and grant funding.
• Create avenues to add value to Montana ag products.

Funding Authorization

Funding for this project is authorized through the Northwest and Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center program (RFBC), Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number 10.186, grant agreement number AM22RFBCCO0007-00.
