Applications for the Noxious Weed Trust Fund Development funding opportunity are due by January 6, 2025.
The Department of Agriculture is accepting grant applications for noxious weed development proposals. Proposals should develop or enhance existing or new tool(s), skill(s), or technology for weed management (biocontrol development, mapping/data management, etc). The Trust Fund provides funding for the development and implementation of local and state-wide noxious weed projects.
Applicants must contact and work with an organization, such as a weed district, conservation district, extension office, or tribe to be the funding recipient for grant dollars. Noxious Weed Trust Fund grants are a reimbursement type of grant. The grant amount is limited to a maximum of $75,000/application and the application deadline is midnight on January 6, 2025. Projects are not required to have a 50:50 match on the budget form, but some match is suggested. All proposed projects should complement and enhance the Montana Weed Management Plan. Development projects include mapping, monitoring, and planning types of projects.
Additional information can be found in the Noxious Weed Trust Fund Grant Guidelines and on the Montana Department of Agriculture website. |
