Applications for the Noxious Weed Trust Fund Research funding opportunity are due by January 6, 2025.
This Noxious Weed Trust Fund funding opportunity is open to noxious weed research projects. Proposals should investigate new weed management techniques; may include chemical, non-chemical, and integrated approaches to weed control (using research to answer specific management questions). The Trust Fund provides funding for research development of innovative weed management techniques, including biological control.
Applicants must contact and work with an organization, such as a university, weed district, conservation district, extension office, or tribe to be the funding recipient for the grant dollars. Noxious Weed Trust Fund grants are a reimbursement type of grant. The grant amount is limited to a maximum of $75,000/application and the application deadline is midnight on January 6, 2025. Projects are not required to have a 50:50 match on the budget form, but some match is suggested. All proposed projects should complement and enhance the Montana Weed Management Plan.
Additional information can be found in the Noxious Weed Trust Fund Grant Guidelines and on the Montana Department of Agriculture Website.
